Research Interests
I hope to continue to utilize my skills and accomplishments in the Global Arena of Customer Service and Corporate Communications. One area of Research continues to be that of consensus building and understanding business practices throughout the world.
One process studied was that of Ringi-Seido, a consensus building process utilized and developed in Japan in the 17th century. This process calls for building consensus and sharing authority in decision making and is used in Japanese companies today.
Through my academic studies, this theory and process was discussed as to whether it could be successful in the United States and in other cultures around the world
While findings show that championing change is difficult, the results of Ringi-Seido in companies such as Toyota and Mitsubishi certainly attest to some of the possible successful outcomes.
